        • The English Language Development Program supports scholars who are identified as English Language Learners

        • Performing Arts
        • We have a number of different performing arts programs.

        • STEM
        • Scholars in grades 6-8 take two courses in Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) each year. Our topics include the basics of modeling and design, the science behind our technology, flight and space, green energy, robotics, and programming for mobile apps.

        • Athletics
        • All scholars in Grades 6-8 are encouraged to try out for any CMS team. We welcome players of any ability with a focus on skill building, sportsmanship, and commitment.

        • Network For Teaching Entrepreneurship
        • During our Mastery Block scholars will engage in an entrepreneurship curriculum designed by our partner at NFTE

        • Mary A. Manning Learning Commons (CMS Library)Collins Middle School Library is offering all students access to learning, relevant literature and research resources in a safe, welcoming, and nurturing environment that inspires their success now and in the future.
        • Expanding HorizonsExpanding Horizons is a free afterschool and summer program in Salem where you can discover fun, new activities (such as robotics, cooking, and art) with a caring community of friends and mentors.

Land Acknowledgment:
The land we recognize today as Salem is Naumkeag, or fishing place, where generations of Indigenous Peoples lived and passed through for centuries. From the village upon the Naumkeag River (now known as the North River) to Sachem Nanepashemet’s fortification (now known as Castle Hill), the people of Naumkeag farmed, fished, traded, raised families, discovered, invented, created art, and above all else, honored the lands upon which you stand today. We acknowledge that this is Indigenous land and acknowledge the Massachusett tribe who continue to honor and hold this land into the present.
