Collins Middle School PTO Honors Leadership and Staff

The Collins Middle School Parent-Teacher Organization honored Principal Gavin Softic and the CMS leadership with a commemorative plaque Monday, June 22 at the annual CMS Family Picnic at Winter Island Park.

Cheryl Zimmerman, the PTO treasurer and paraprofessional at Salem Prep High School made the presentation, lauding the CMS staff for its commitment to one another as well as making for a smooth transition in welcoming middle school students from the Saltonstall School last fall.

“During staff appreciation week I was impressed on how many staff were running to other classrooms to cover so the other teachers could take a break and grab some refreshments. I have worked for the system for almost 28 years and it isn’t often that you will see a school of that size work so well for each other. Salem is cohesive, but they just went way above and beyond for each other. It really was impressive.”
